A Tactical Two-Player Strategy Game of Rival Fur Companies
Lead a fur trading company, establish your fort, and outmaneuver your opponent in this tense head-to-head frontier strategy game.

Outthink Your Rival Company
In the untamed frontier, two companies compete for control of the most profitable hunting grounds.
Place your fort, send hunters into the wilderness, and fight for valuable furs before your rival company can claim them. Every decision matters. Every move can be countered.
Victory belongs to the company that can outmaneuver, outplan, and outlast the other.
How the Game Works
Build the Hex Map
A modular hex tile system means no two games play alike. Hunting grounds shift. River crossings change. The frontier refuses to be tamed — or memorized.
Asymmetrical Start
One company places their Fort first prime positioning. The other company acts first in every tie. Neither is simply better. Both feel different to play.
Draft Action Cards
Each round you select only a few cards from your available pool. Every choice is a trade-off. What you leave on the table might be exactly what your rival expected you to play.
The Resolve System
There’s no single path to defeat. Lose men. Let furs slip to the enemy. Multiple threats, one fragile morale — and when it breaks, your rival wins.

From the Designer
Frontier Company Rivals was inspired by the intense rivalries that emerged during the North American fur trade on the wild frontier. Demand in Europe for furs was enormous, turning the fur trade into a highly lucrative and competitive enterprise in the New World.
With this game, I wanted to condense a full strategy experience into a smaller package while limiting the actions available to players each round. That creates the feeling of “I can’t do everything at once.” Players must choose carefully which actions to take, and there’s even a bit of mind game involved in predicting what your rival company might do next.
Two companies enter the wilderness.
Only one will remain.
